I've lived in the Kansas City area all my life, raising my 5 children, and now am the proud grandmother of one little girl. I also have a grandson due in December.
I still remember my older sisters referring to me as "Mother Nature",always wanting to be where there were puppies and kittens.
When I was 7 I learned to play piano. When I was 17, I taught myself how to play guitar, with the help of a James Taylor songbook and the chords in the back of the book.(thank you,James Taylor).
I'm hoping to use this website to share my loves for music and art.

In her early 50’s, Katherine Bloom is a writer for the Boston Trumpet. She has her
own column and has many readers. Her topics range from anything about wildlife to
human nature. She witnessed firsthand the World Trade Center disaster, and was quick to
respond to the needs of those from Hurricane Katrina.
Noticing her home in the Berkshire Mountains in need of repair, and often times
wanting a caretaker around the place, she places an ad in the local paper for a room for
rent at a very low rate if a skilled carpenter is willing to help her with the house.
Meanwhile, with wars raging, starvation at an all-time high, drugs running rampant
worldwide, God has called on this to be the final year of life of the human race on Earth.
Although nothing in the Bible can be rewritten, Jesus asks his Father for one more earthly
visit, to save as many people as possible from damnation. God gives him 30 days.
This isn’t the first time Jesus has requested to return to Earth. When major events have
happened in the last 2000 years, Jesus has been here. The catch is that everytime he
returns to Earth, he ages. Therefore he has chosen his visits wisely. A scrapbook of major
events reveals images of him through the years, helping mankind through its trials and
tribulations.
As the story begins, Katherine is in her office, placing the ad for a caretaker. Within a
few days, Jesus appears. But the unbelievable task of gaining Katherine’s trust is
something he will take by the moment. They agree to meet at the house. While living at
her house, Katherine realizes for the first time that she has an unusual gift of gaining trust
among wild animals. They flock to her doorstep. Yet when visitors arrive, the animals
will run to hide until they sense the visitors are gone. It’s happened so often,it’s expected.
But this day, when Katherine arrives after Jesus has already been waiting a few
minutes, she immediately notices the animals gathered around him at his feet. Since on
the phone she’d only asked his first name, she isn’t prepared yet for the shocking reality
that he is, in fact, Jesus Christ. Katherine comments on how easily the animals have
taken to him,and invites him in.
Jesus isn’t as he appeared in paintings we’ve seen, but rather a balding man, tall and
lanky, yet his skin is smooth, his hands rugged. She trusts he is indeed a carpenter.
Katherine offers Jesus a soda, but he asks instead for water. Then Katherine asks how he
got there,as no car is waiting in the drive. “ I walked”,he replied.
When asked what he does for a living, he replies that he’s been a carpenter all his life,
and is soon to retire. He comments that he reads her articles all the time, and enjoys her
insight to the emotions of people in the modern world. Then getting up to refresh his
drink from the kitchen faucet, he turns the water on. Out comes red wine. He quickly
turns the water off,but it’s too late. Katherine has already seen it. She runs to the sink,
turns it on herself, and it’s water. “Jesus Christ!” she exclaims. “Yes,” he responds.
“Oh MY GOD!” Katherine shouts. “No,” he responds…”Jesus Christ.”
From there they stand in silence for what seemed like forever. “It’s ok, Katherine..”
Jesus says in a soft and reassuring voice. “ I just have some things to do here and I need
your help. “Katherine asks timidly,” How long will you be here?”
“Thirty days,” he responds.
Over the next few weeks, as Katherine tries to absorb what is happening, she’s amazed at
the way repairs are quickly done to her home, the flowers bloom more vibrantly, and the
drive to her home is more enjoyable. Many hours the two of them spend in the evening
around a campfire, talking about the meaning of life. Katherine uses the insight she gains
to write more pleading articles. Change, she asks for,and compassion among mankind.
She asks about the meaning of life, and how the world began. Jesus does his best to
explain it all to her.
Meanwhile, he spends many hours at the homeless shelters, talking to those who gather
There. He notices the effects of drug abuse, how it strips families of their income, and
how it causes all of the worldly sins to exist. He watches the news of starvation in 3rd
world countries, of the countless people dying in wars. Then he calls upon God.
Out in the woods one day, God and Jesus meet. God says time is drawing near, and He
Will be making some changes in the morning. Jesus is offered some suggestions of
What he can continue to work on,and is told that Katherine will need him soon.
The next morning, news crews can’t keep up with the events worldwide. All of the
Fields and makeshift factories of illegal drugs burst into flames. Huge shipments of
drugs vanish before their distributors eyes. All illegal drugs vanish from the Earth.
Then third world countries feel as if in a dream, for fields of rich crops appear through-
out what was once barren desert. The rain begins to fall, slow and steady. Streams appear
out of no where. Starving children are no more. And in homeless gatherings throughout
the world, the people begin to sing. Music is rich. Even on normally hectic and unloving
streets in major cities, you can hear the soft sound of music being played. Where it is
normally hot, it becomes a beautiful day. Where it is winter, it becomes spring.
But when Katherine goes to her doctor for a visit, she learns she has terminal cancer.
She is urged to seek treatment, yet refuses. She stops by the office and talks to her boss.
She tells him what’s going on and that she’d like to write from home for awhile. He
agrees.
Days go by, with Jesus being there for Katherine. From time to time he forgets, and
attempts to bring her water. It always turns to wine, so he purchases bottled water for her.
Untouched, it will stay the same.
With flowers blooming and crispness in the air, Katherine spends many hours outside,
Talking to the animals, who notice her weakening with each passing day. Then the day
comes when she can’t get out of bed. Jesus carries her outside to her porch swing. He
tells her to gather her strength for one more journey. He asks her to walk down the lane,
and keep on walking, for she will grow stronger the more she does. He says,”You’re
going home, and I will be there soon.”
Though weak and frail, she does as she is told, and glows with such brightness, as if the
Sun is on her back. No sooner does she reach the lane, but a child appears, and starts to
follow her.
More and more come along, one child after another, until she is being followed by
Children of the thousands. As they reach the horizon, the image grows faint, and they
Disappear. There is a loud trembling of the Earth, a bright light that covers everything,
and the World does end.
